Sleepless Rose

by Alyse Neibaur
April 28, 2006

You seem so tired
Why don’t you rest,
It is now time
To end your quest

Enfold your body
With the silk of a rose
Letting the petals
Tickle your toes

While the sweet aroma
Lifts you into a dream
To encase you in fantasy
Or so it may seem,

Where you can reach out a finger
To touch heaven's doors
And leave behind
The day's exhausting wars

Now sleep my dear angel
Let your eyes close
Tomorrow will wait
With another perfect rose
